Here’s a good interview with astronaut Tim Peake from yesterday on The Six O’Clock Show, an Irish TV programme, in which he says he has seen unexplained lights in space.
Here’s the transcript of the interesting bit, and the Youtube video below starts at the beginning of this extract.
Question: Do you believe there’s life on other planets?
Tim Peake: There is definitely life on other planets. I think the universe is abundant with life. The problem is time and distance. You know, will we ever make contact? Do we ever want to make contact?
But no I think when you look at the number of stars just in our own galaxy, and then the number of galaxies, we’re up to a couple of trillion galaxies in the observable universe, each with hundreds of billions of stars, the universe is teeming with life, absolutely, but we may never make contact.
Question: Have you ever seen anything in space Tim you can’t explain?
Tim Peake: Well you do sometimes see strange things I won’t deny it. There’s some lights when you don’t expect to see lights and things like that. But most of it has probably got a very rational explanation to it. And certainly, nothing that I would raise a flag to and say hey we really need to investigate this. So I’m not convinced that we’ve had anything flying around the space station that shouldn’t be there.
